Etsy Raves: Behind the Pages Bookmarks

I'm coming back to my monthly segments of Etsy Raves after a long hiatus. I didn't plan on taking a break from this meme, it just happened! Not to worry, I finally found something that's worthy of being raved about. Yes, it's more bookmarks. You're probably wondering... "Alex, you've shown us so many bookmarks before on Etsy Raves segments. What makes these bookmarks so different?"

I'd say... "Well have you ever seen bookmarks like these before?"

The one thing I love about Gina's products is that she can keep that painted watercolor look in the background but still make each bookmark look completely different. The words and designs in ink just tone down the watercolor in the background, and I love it! I was fortunate enough to win a giveaway Gina did on her Instagram account. So I'll be receiving samples of her wonderful bookmarks soon enough. I can't say anything about the quality of her products because I haven't received mine yet. Keep in mind, they come on textured paper. My guess is, the bookmarks won't be as flimsy as paper bookmarks because they have to be resilient enough to hold the watercolor and ink. I believe you can either purchase her bookmarks in thin or thick watercolor paper options.

The price isn't so bad compared to other handmade watercolor bookmarks on the market. Keep in mind that these are HANDMADE so she probably put a lot of hard work, time and heart into her pieces. Shipping is always unreasonable but that has nothing to do with the seller.You're purchasing bookmarks through Etsy so you have to abide by Etsy's shipping prices and rules. I'd suggest that you buy these bookmarks in bulk if you want to avoid the price of shipping you'd have to buy if you buy them separately.

Etsy Raves: Tasty Peach Studios

I always like bringing you guys the 411 when it comes to new and exciting products I have no doubt I'd think you'd like. While I was at Otakon over the weekend walking around some of the booths in the dealers room, I came across this particular Japanese kawaii plush store and had to share some of the things I found on their website. The items listed online are a bit more expensive than how much it was on the actual physical booth but they're worth it for the quality and cuteness!

Their online store holds so many fun and soft plushies. I'll insert a picture of the one I got but I just wish I had al of them right now! Some of these plushies also have some hand-embroidered elements, which give it the handmade feel.

The actual size is about 10 inches in height, not that large but still really cute and packable. The black and white bone part is supposed to be hand-embroidered, and you can definitely feel that when you have the actual product in your hands. The fur itself is incredibly soft and huggable. I love the idea of this Zombie Alpaca because I have a lot of alpacas but none like this at all! I feel like the plushie is a bit expensive but their prices, I'm sure, are tailored to be reasonable to the seller and the fact that some aspects are handmade.

Etsy Raves: MyBOOKmark 'Walking' Bookmark

I'm continuing the segment of Etsy Raves with more bookmarks that I recently stumbled upon on Instagram. I haven't order from this one just yet, but once I get home I'm going to immediately order them for myself! Today I'm featuring Olena from MyBOOKmark, an unusually unique shop for marking your books. When I first saw pictures of her bookmarks on Instagram, I knew that I needed to have one! It's not everyday that your bookmarks can walk! 

I'm not gonna lie these bookmarks a bit on the pricey side but, of course, I would expect that since these are handmade bookmarks! Etsy tells me that she uses polymer clay, which is a media of art I'm quite familiar with and it's incredible that she can make them into bookmarks! Isn't it incredible that her products were all hand sculpted and painted? Having experience working with polymer clay, I have got to say that it's not the easiest media to work with in the word. I will include some pictures of her creations on the bottom of this post.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the variety of these bookmarks?!?! There are two that definitely caught my eye: The ski boots one and the C-3PO one. I'm still truly deciding on which ones to buy, and when I'll get the money to purchase one because as you guys know I'm currently broke and am on a book-buying ban (or so I think).
