Midnight Monday #2

Welcome to another post of my Midnight Monday meme. I'm glad that I finally have an official blog meme sticker *winks*. Of course, if you haven't been caught up to the last news, Livia from Butterfly-o-Meter Design made all of this possible! This is a weekly meme where I talk about my favorite horror story/book of the week. Today I will be talking about...

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane comes a chilling mystery- Prep meets The Crucible.
It's senior year at St. Joan's Academy, and school is a pressure cooker. College applications, the battle for valedvictorian, deciphering boy's texts: Through it all, Colleen Rowley and her friends are expected to keep it together. Until they can't.
First it's the school's queen bee, Clara Rutherford, who suddenly falls into uncontrollable tics in the middle of class. Her mystery illness quickly spreads to her closest clique of friends, then more students and symptoms follow: seizures, hair loss, violent coughing fits. St. Joan's buzzes with rumor; rumor blossoms into full-blown panic.
Soon the media descends on Danvers, Massachusetts, as everyone scrambles to find something, or someone, to blame. Pollution? Stress? Or are the girls faking? Only Colleen- who's been reading The Crucible for extra credit- comes to realize what nobody else has: Danvers was once Salem Village, where another group of girls suffered from a similarly bizarre epidemic three centuries ago...
Inspired by true events- from seventeenth-century colonial life to the halls of a modern-day high school- Conversion casts a spell. With her signature wit and passion, New York Times bestselling author Katherine Howe delivers an exciting and suspenseful novel, a chilling mystery that raises the question, what's really happening to the girls at St. Joan's?
I'm definitely gonna share this spine chilling book with you all today. It really makes you think twice about the Salem Witch Trials. When there are witches involved, make sure to call me over! Conversion is a truly mind-boggling tale that will win over any horror story lover. It's actually one of my personal favorites next to Stephen King's Salem's Lot. Now I know this book seems on more of the historical fiction side, but I assure you it's more than just that! We have some crazy scenes in the book where these so-called possessed girls start spazzing and foaming at the mouth. It's quite hilarious! And I actually read the crucible (it really helps if you do)!

That's all for this Midnight Monday! I would go bonkers for a really fantastic horror book. If anyone would like to recommend one for next week, I would be happy to feature the book.

BOOOO!!!!! (I hope I scared you)

  1. I love horror, too! Have you read The Hallowed Ones by Laura Bickle? Or This Is Not a Test by Courtney Summers?
