Characters I'd Name My Child After

Anyone who knows me would know that I am not whatsoever a child loving person. I didn't even like little children when I was a little child! Therefore, having kids is not something I'd plan for myself (but who knows?!).But I thought that this was still a really fun topic! I have picked names that I think either sound nice or have a special meaning to me. I will be going from ten to one, one being the highest.

 10. Aedion - Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

Aedion is one of my favourite characters from the Throne of Glass series. He is a strong, yet vulnerable character who talks about is emotions. I like how Aedion is not your typical brooding male warrior.
I also just love his name so much too! It's so unique and I'm pretty you won't run into any other Aedions. ;)

9. Marco - The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

The Night Circus is a book I love very much. Marco, one of the main characters is such a kind person and was my favourite charcter in the entire book! Honestly, I really like his name for some reason too.

8. Gansey - The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

SURPRISE! I actually haven't read The Raven Boys yet! Don't worry, it shall happen soon!
But I chose this name because ever since I first heard it I've been oddly fascinated by it. I remember when I first heard someone say the name I was like "Hey, that's a really cool name!" .

7. Kell - A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab

I absolutely LOVED A Darker Shade of Magic and the second book, A Gathering of Shadows. And I also love Kell. I love Kell for many reasons, but I don't think any of those reasons are appropriate to say I named a baby after.... XD
So, let us just leave it at the fact that I think the simplicity of the name is why I'd choose it.

6. June - Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu

The Legend trilogy are my favourite books of ALL time, so of course I had to it!
June is such a strong female character. Not only is she badass, but she is also so incredibly smart and talented. Something else I love about her is that even though she is all those things I just mentioned above, she also has a very sensitive, emotional, and caring side. It's something that at first she thinks is a weakness, but she then realizes that it's not. She realizes it can make you stronger and that everyone has that sort of side and it's completely normal.
June is a character that I think is a great role mode and if I ever have a daughter would be happy to name her after her.

5. Alec - The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

I actually am not a really big fan of Alec. But I really do like his name! It's a great twist on Alex!

4. Delilah 'Lila' Emma - A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab and Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

I actually chose a middle name to go along with this first name! I'd probably call her Lila for short like how the character is referred to in the books, that's why Lila is in quotations.

These two female characters I love so dearly. They are strong young women who are confident in themselves and don't take shit from anyone. They've also got a lot to learn, and that's why I love them so much. Even though at times they think they've got everything mastered, they realize that their way isn't the only way and that there is still so much for them to learn about life.

I love how they are portrayed at perfect females who've got everything down to a T. It makes it very realistic to actual human beings in our own world. Plus, doesn't this name sound great?!

3. Rowan - Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

I FREAKING LOVE ROWAN SO MUCH. He is my everything! He has had some of the most character development I've ever read about. And I just feel like if I ever had a son I'd need dedicate it's name to Rowan.

Fun fact: The name I gave my laptop is actually Rowan XD

2. Cordelia - The Last Hours by Cassandra Clare

The Last Hours hasn't even come out yet and I'm already obsessed with it...

Cordelia is the daughter of a certain Lightwood and a certain other character from The Infernal Devices (no spoilers!). Although, I don't even know Cordelia Carstairs' character, I'm actually OBSESSED with her name since the first day I read about it.

1. James "Jem" Carstairs - The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

For this name I've again come up with a middle name, and yes that middle name is the characters last name but it needed to be in there because that's how much I love Jem.

Jem is probably the most brave, wise, and kindest character I've ever read about. I just love him so much that I don't even know how to explain it.

  2. I haven't read TRB either (I tried once and it didn't go too well), but I assumed Gansey was a nickname, is it his actual name? I must admit, the name Cordelia reminds me of a villain, but on the plus side. having an evil child would provide great storyline ideas :D

  4. I love this post! Names are definitely so important, and as a bookworm, practically everything I do is influenced by books. It's really funny because whenever I'm ordering a coffee or something and they as me for my name, I just give them the name of the protagonist of the book I'm currently reading :D
