APOLLYCON 2015

On February 28th I went to ApollyCon in Philadelphia! I attended the signing and the after party... and to be honest even though it was like my third book event, I was freaking out in the beginning! A lot of you guys have wanted to see this post, and I'd like to share the things that occurred. First off, I met Sarah J. Maas!! Like HOLY CRAP! SARAH J. MAAS my favorite author of all time was there and I just stared at her like an idiot. To sum up my experience, if you EVER see an event hosted by Damaris Cardinali you must go to that event. I have to say that this event was probably the most organized and interesting one I've ever been to!

SARAH J. MAAS | ALEXANDRA BRACKEN | JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT | KATIE MCGARRY | AMALIE HOWARD | DREW LEIGHTY  (COVER MODEL FOR THE RETURN) | PAGE MORGAN | JAMIE MCGUIRE | ANY MANY MORE...

Yes that picture in the bottom right corner is exactly what you think it is! IT'S RACHEL FROM A Perfection Called Books. And she was sweet enough to take a picture with me because I'm all weird and all. I can't believe I actually saw her though! I'm telling you, faith brought us together!

AND NOW FOR THE HAUL...
Spencer Hill Press was awesome in giving everyone posters and just making sure we all had a great time! I got some bookmarks, a punch of pens, posters, and ARCS from them. Really sweet, really kind. As for the haul.. this is just a compliation of everything I got there, not everything I bought. I honestly have to say that I controlled myself and bought only 5 books out of the ones being shown. I'm proud *pats self on back*

Did you go to ApollyCon? If so, tell me about it! If not, well tell me how your Saturday was! Thanks for reading :D

  7. I didn't get to go *waah* but I'm SO GLAD you had such a good time. I am drooling over your books and how you got to meet the awesome author duo: SJM and Susan Dennard! I've wanted to meet them both forever. UGH GOALSSSSSS!!

I love events that are organized because I'm a really nervous person by nature, making BEA very hard for me, which is partly why I'm afraid of going.

    1. Didn't know there was a Sarah J. Maas and Susan Dennard duo! Not so familiar with Susan's books but I'll try some out since they are besties! Events that are well organized make me smile so much and I'm so appreciative of how much work was put into this event.

  9. Nice haul, Alex! :) Being from the Philippines, we don't get to have as much book signings although more and more authors are flying over for the past year or so. Btw, I added you at Goodreads.

  12. Sorry for the way late comment here but I found this blog entry on google. What are book events like this actually like? Are people friendly or are these like other conventions where you wait in a long line, get a quick autograph or something, and that's it?

Also! I think there are broken images here?

    1. Now that you mention it, I think there are some broken images lmfao! Book events are the best way to put yourself out there and connect with other readers and the authors that you assumed weren't real but wrote your favorite books. I met so many people alone just at this one event and it was incredible to see others with such a burning passion for reading like mine. Okay for lines and waiting, it really all depends on how early you get there. I usually get to an event or a certain author 1-2 hours before the actual people start lining up and or start letting people in. It's not just an autograph. It's like speaking with the authors and while you're in line, you can talk to others that are waiting for the same author. I hope you're considering some bookish events. I usually update my blog with events I'm going to so I really hope u stay tuned so I can post some.
