Featured Blogger: Christy & Erica @ Novel Ink

Back with another Featured Blogger post and this time we're stopping at Novel Ink with Christy and Erica. I may just have a profound love for their blog. I mean, look at the color scheme. I just fall in love with the mint/turquoise color every single time! If you don't already know about their blog (and you probably do), then head over right now! It's not too late! I asked them a few mind-blowing questions, and here are the answers! :D

1.Quick! You're hanging from a tree about to fall into a pit of sharks and deadly electric eels. You're holding onto one book- a book that you can never let go and will want to possibly die with. What is the name of that book?
Christy: Oh... I can't, I can't, I can't! Okay, if I HAD to choose, I would pick any one of the Night Huntress books by Jeaniene Frost and I would totally be singing "I will go down with this SHIP" Cat & Bones = OTP

Erica: How can you put me into this situation, Alex? Okay, I'm going to have to go with TFIOS. I know, people are like really, TFIOS, it's a book everyone loves, but I have meaning behind it. My boyfriend got this for me about a year and a half ago and it brought me out of my reading slump. I finished it in one sitting and I just have to thank that book and my boyfriend for bringing me back into the reading world :)

2. Novel Ink? I always thought that was an ingenious name! What's the story behind it?
Christy: Well, the blog used to be Christy's Book Addiction up until a few months ago. I really just started the blog on a whim and didn't really give much thought to the blog name. But as it grew and I realized I was in this for the long haul, I wanted something else, and when I found Erica (who is AMAZING, BTW), I knew that it was time. As for how we came up with it? We just brainstormed and started throwing words together and TA-DA Novel Ink was born!

Erica: Christy had been wanting a new name and since she found me she thought it would definitely be a good time to change her name. Which, I didn't even think to do, but she's sweet and felt the blog should focus on us two and not just her (though it is her blog, originally). So, with the idea of changing the name we both brainstormed. I honestly don't know who came up with the idea, I'm pretty sure it was both of us coming together cause her and I are awesome like that (hehe). We both have tattoos and it the ink part fits tattoos and like a way of writing so we thought, 'why not'?

3. This question seems so out of the blue but some bloggers have been pondering what it's like to have a co-blogger. What's it like to work with each other as a team?
Christy: Having a co-blogger is absolutely wonderful! Since I started school back in 2013, I had pondered on whether or not to seek out someone to help me with the blog, but I was always too nervous and scared. I was afraid that it wouldn't feel like mine anymore and there was always that voice in the back of my head saying "What if you don't get along?". And shamefully I listened to that voice for a while. But it got to the point where I couldn't handle everything by myself anymore so I decided to take the plunge. Thankfully, I found Erica, and I couldn't imagine a better suited person to run the blog with me. And not only is she the most AWESOMEST co-blogger every, she's also became a really great friend. Erica and I work really well together and I can see that the blog has grown so much since she came aboard.

Erica: Oh my goodness, having a co-blogger is WONDERFUL. We help each other with everything. We come up with ideas faster, we always read over each other's reviews and just help with little things along our way. Not only that, but we have become such close friends and that is something beautiful in itself. I just really enjoy having Christy and cannot be more thankful that I found her :) If you are looking for a co-blogger or are thinking of getting one, you should. They're so helpful and I think make the blog just so much more amazing.

4. You guys have recently started a meme called INKED that featurs authors and bloggers with tattoos. How did you come up with the idea for this meme because it's definitely a unique and rad idea? Mind showing us some of your tattoos?
Christy: Erica and I both have tattoos and I have a HUGE love for them (I have 7 & my husband has 10), so when we changed the blog name to Novel Ink, we wanted to come up with a unique feature that would reflect the name of the blog, we also wanted to get others involved too, thus INKED was born. There has always been that stigma that people with tattoos are less than, and I just don't buy that AT ALL. Some of the nicest people I've ever met are covered in tattoos, and some of the worst don't have one. We just really wanted to show that there are some really great people out there who have ink and they are just as good as everyone else, and it doesn't make them dangerous or mean, or less than.

Erica: Yes, we just started our new meme INKED and I am so happy with the turn out. Like I said in question 2, Christy and I both have tattoos (yes, I only have one, but that counts). We wanted something new to make out blog more interesting and we came up with the idea to show off some awesome people with some awesome tattoos. I feel like so many people look down on other's for having tattoos, but some pretty spectacular people have tattoos and I guess that was my main reason for doing so. I just wanted everyone to know that just because you have a tattoo doesn't mean you are any less than someone who doesn't.

OMG Look at their awesome tattoos!
