Midnight Monday #3

Welcome to another post of my Midnight Monday meme. I've decided that I'm going to make this a weekly thing now, and I'm gonna try not to delay this weekly post. But at some point, I'm gonna forget :P This is a weekly meme where I talk about my favorite scary reads of the week. Today I will be talking about...

Title: Wait Till Helen Comes
Author: Mary Downing Hahn
Pages: 192
Published: November 7th, 1987
Genre: Ghost story
Beware of Helen... Heather is such a whiny little brat. Always getting Michael and me into trouble. But since our mother married her father, we're stuck with her... out "poor stepsister" who lost her real mother in a mysterious fire. But now something terrible has happened. Heather has found a new friend, out in the graveyard behind our home -- a girl named Helen who died with her family in a mysterious fire over a hundred years ago. Now her ghost returns to lure children into the pond... to drown! I don't want to believe in ghosts, but I've followed Heather into the graveyard and watch her talk to Helen. And I'm terrified. Not for myself, but for Heather...

Mary Downing Hahn is a favorite ghost story author of mine. I've raved about her book Deep and Dark and Dangerous before, and I've mentioned just how good it is! This week I wanted to bring back these types of old ghost stories. Just follow my motto: The older they are... the creepier. Okay so her books, are without a doubt, really really scary. PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! I'm honestly a killer for scary stories, so these books more or less appeal to me.

Wait Till Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn is a chilling and spooky tale of a low-county ghost. I would recommend it to anyone who really has a strong appetite for ghost stories. I hope you all enjoyed this week's post of Midnight Monday. If you have any scary books to suggest, just comment down below and tell me :D

    1. Although it may seem very bland and boring, it's totally not! All horror books are somewhat interesting in their own way. And this book is definitely worth checking out.
