**SPOILERS INTENDED**

*SWOONS* Supernatural-filled... romantic... dreamy. The best supernatural read this year! If you don't want to be spoiled, I suggest you close this page right now! I'm in a very spoiling mood. This was more of a sci-fi fantasy book rather than a romance book. There was still a lot of romance, but not as much as you would find in YA contemporary novel.

Most of the first book was devoted to introducing Mara's and Noah's powers. From then on, it was up to them to trust each other and work together. Once Mara founds out that Noah had powers, the two were practically inseparable. It's wasn't until Mara got committed into a mental institution, did things go wayward for her. She didn't know if all this- seeing her supposed dead ex-boyfriend, having deadly superpowers, and her hot boyfriend- was just her being crazy, or if it was really reality. Mara was just trying to save what was left of her sanity. Throughout the course of the second book, we find out that Mara is actually not crazy- her life is just that screwed up.

One thing I really enjoyed: Mara's character development throughout the two books. She blossomed into this powerful and strong female protagonist. I mean basically the whole book was about her discovering her true power and ability. Even with such a lethal power as Mara's, she soon discovers that it only gets better... well I can't say that's true for everyone. Noah Shaw, the male lead protag, was to die for and totally swoon worthy! I'm having butterflies in my stomach just thinking about him.

If you're looking for a fast-paced book that you can finish it a day, this is the perfect read. I was able to finish both books in a matter of two days. I can't honestly say that I didn't rush through these books, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I don't know who designed the covers, but I am going to hunt that person down. Have you seen the covers yet? THEY ARE STUNNING!

The next book in this trilogy is set to be released on October 23 of 2014.

Me looking at release date:

Bang My Head

Yes, the usual head banging. Please check this series out! I was a bit skeptical at first because of all the hype about this book. I don't normally get on these types of bandwagons, but this book was especially one of my favorites. I'm impatiently waiting for the third book in the series to come. *sigh* I also know a lot of booktubers and fellow book bloggers who had really enjoyed the first two books in the series!

Look out for my series review and talk on The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout!

  1. Great Review!
I absolutely love the Mara Dyer books and I cannot wait for the last book to come out. The terrible thing is that it was supposed to come out in June, but the publication date was pushed back. But I know that it is going to be worth it.

  3. I love the Mara Dyer books, and cannot wait to sink my teeth into the third book. I'm very excited and scared at the same time, and the theories (about how Mara 'made up' Noah due to her trauma) is making it worse. Ah, cannot wait!

    1. I agree. We all get that mixed feeling before a new book is released. I, for one thing, am scared and excited for the last book in the trilogy.
